10 alleged drug dealers arrested

Carteret deputies have arrested 10 alleged drug dealers, authorities said.

Those charged were targeted by the Carteret County Sheriff's Department and numerous undercover controlled purchases were made from the suspects, according to a press release from the Carteret County Sheriff's Department.

Those arrested were:

  • Sherry Ann Bailey, 41, of Roberts Road in Newport, was charged with two counts of sell and deliver a Schedule IV controlled substance, two counts of trafficking opium, one count of maintaining a dwelling, one count of conspiracy to traffic opium, and one count of possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a Schedule IV controlled substance. Bonds totaled $50,000.
  • Jamie Brice Sheldon, 22, of Manatee Street in Cape Carteret, was charged with six counts of possession of marijuana and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $500.
  • Christian Pittman, 19, of Ricksha Court in Newport, was charged with two counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a Schedule IV controlled substance, and two counts of sell and deliver a Schedule IV controlled substance. Bond was set at $10,000.
  • Richard "Richie" Echavez, 18, of Stoney Brook Court in Pelletier, was charged with sell and deliver Schedule VI controlled substance, and possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a Schedule VI controlled substance. Bond was set at $2,500.
  • Darien Lewis, 18, of Ware Creek Road in Beaufort, was charged with two counts of sell and deliver a Schedule VI controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle to sell or keep a controlled substance, and possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana. Bonds totaled $15,000.
  • Patrick Simmons, of Mayberry Loop Road in Morehead City, was charged with maintaining a dwelling, three counts of sell and deliver Schedule VI controlled substance, and three counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a Schedule VI controlled substance. Bonds totaled $9,000.
  • Leslie Guthrie Jr., of Dutch Treat Mobile Home Park in Newport, was charged with three counts of trafficking opium. Bonds totaled $50,000.
  • Nicholas Pratt, 20, of Ward Road in Swansboro, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a Schedule VI controlled substance. Bond was set at $1,000.
  • Jerald Jerome Dixon, 30, of Middle Road in Trenton, was charged with six counts of trafficking cocaine, one count of sell and deliver cocaine, and one count of possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine. Bonds totaled $76,000.
  • Frederick Patterson, 24, of Dutch Treat Mobile Home Park in Newport, was charged with three counts of trafficking opium, two counts of sell and deliver a Schedule IV controlled substance, one count of sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, one count of maintaining a vehicle to sell or keep a controlled substance, one count of possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, and two counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a Schedule IV controlled substance. Bonds totaled $55,000.
