2 charged with car break-ins

Jacksonville police have arrested two men accused of breaking into cars in the Carolina Forest area.

Robert Anthony Jenkins, 19, of Williams Street and Jarell Nigee Page, 18, of River Street were charged by the Jacksonville Police Department with 10 counts of breaking and entering into a motor vehicle, three counts of possession of stolen property, three counts of larceny and conspiracy. Their bond was set at $7,500 each.

After receiving a call from a resident early Tuesday morning, JPD patrol officers located the two suspects matching the reported descriptions in the area of Springwood Drive. During interviews with detectives from the Investigative Division, Jenkins and Williams both confessed to the break-ins, said JPD Deputy Chief Tim Malfitano who added that more charges are expected in the case.

“Jacksonville Police would like to thank the concerned citizens in Carolina Forest who reported the incident in their neighborhood and provided information regarding the suspects.” Malfitano said. “We encourage all citizens of Jacksonville to report any suspicious activity to the Jacksonville Police Department.”

Call JPD at 910-455-4000.
