Former Onslow manager has new job

DURHAM - A former Onslow County manager has started a new job.

Frank Clifton started serving as the interim county manager for Orange County on Monday.

In that role, Clifton will lead day-to-day operations of Orange County government, interact with the Board of County Commissioners, county departments and the general public. He will report directly to the Orange County Board of Commissioners.

Clifton served as Onslow County manager for three years until his forced resignation in March 2008. He most recently served as interim town manager at North Topsail Beach from July to February.

Clifton is replacing Orange County's current manager, Laura Blackmon, whose last day is June 30.
