No matches found.15 charges stem from DWI checkpoint
A DWI checkpoint in Jones County on Friday resulted in 15 charges, according to a news release issued Monday by the Jones County Sheriff’s Office.
The checkpoint was held Friday night on U.S. 17 at the line between Jones and Craven counties, officials said. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the N.C. Highway Patrol, the Marine Corps, Forensic Tests for Alcohol Branch’s breath alcohol testing mobile unit (BAT Mobile), Jones County EMS, Rhems Fire Department and the Coastal Coalition for Substance Abuse Prevention.
The checkpoint resulted in the following charges:
- Three driving while impaired
- Three no operator’s license
- Two expired registration
- One expired inspection
- One fugitive arrest
- Two open container
- One possession of an open container by person under the age of 21
- One aid/abetting underage drinking by a person over the age of 21
- One simple possession of marijuana
