Authorities searching for missing couple

Area authorities are searching for a missing couple, according to the N.C. Department of Crime Control and Public Safety.

Sarah Ann Crosby, 86, and Billy James Crosby, 84, were last seen in Swansboro and are driving a silver 2008 Mercury Marquis with an Arkansas license plate.

Sarah Ann Crosby is described as a white woman, 5'4" and 130 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes, according to the department. Billy James Crosby is described as a white man, 5'10" and 160 pounds, with short, gray hair and brown eyes.

Sheriff Ed Brown said the couple's daughter flew to Arkansas to drive her parents to Onslow County.

"Now they've taken their car and they've left," Brown said.

The couple left Swansboro around 10 p.m. Tuesday. Authorities believe they are returning to Arkansas.

Both suffer from dementia or another cognitive impairment, according to the N.C. Department of Crime Control and Public Safety.
