Five arrested in car dealership break-in
New Bern police arrested four adults and one juvenile for a September break-in at the Coastal Carolina Honda dealership at 3774 Dr. M.L. King Jr. Blvd.
Arrested were Ramon Bori Phan, 18, of River Bend; Vincent Kison Jones, 19, of New Bern; Peterson Yun Non, 22, of River Bend; Christopher Cornelius Respers, 20; and a 15-year-old boy who was not identified because of his age.
Police were called to the dealership early Sept. 28 after someone broke into the business. Officers determined that someone threw a brick through the glass doors, ransacked offices, damaged property and stole laptops, keys and other items. They also attempted to break a safe that was in the dealership. The total cost of damaged and stolen property was estimated to be more than $16,000.
Police first identified Phan as a suspect. New Bern and River Bend police served a search warrant at his residence Friday morning.
Phan, Non, Respers and Jones were charged with breaking and entering a building, felony conspiracy, larceny from a building, two counts of destruction or damage to property, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Except for Respers, the suspects were also charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The four were placed in the Craven County jail with bail for each set at $400,000.
The 15-year-old boy was also charged and turned over to juvenile services.
Investigators believe the group may also be responsible for break-ins in River Bend and Craven County.
