Arrest made following chase on foot

A telephone call to police concerning illegal drug activity led to the arrest of a New Bern man early Tuesday morning.

Brandon McKeon Lindsey, 27, of 1009 Kings Way, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest.

Lindsey was put in jail with bail set at $50,000.

Following the tip, police investigated drug activity in the area of 1210 Broad St. Upon arrival, police noticed what appeared to be a drug transaction.

“As officers approached the two, they ran away. Lindsey was detained in the 600 block of Second Avenue,” New Bern Deputy Police Chief Ed Preston said.

Police recovered six bags of packaged cocaine.

The second man was released from the scene without incident. He was not arrested.
