La Grange wreck sends two to hospital
LA GRANGE - A driver allegedly crossing the center line caused a two-vehicle accident in La Grange Wednesday morning.
According to the State Highway Patrol, the accident also sent two to the hospital.
According to Trooper Bud Radford, Latisha Koonce of La Grange crossed the center line while driving a 1996 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck. When her vehicle crossed over, it struck a 1998 Chevrolet Astro van.
The van, which is owned by Right-Temp Inc. of La Grange, was being driven by an unidentified Right-Temp employee.
The accident, which occurred Wednesday morning near the intersection of Jenny Lind and Mayes Store roads in La Grange, resulted in substantial vehicle damage, although no one was seriously injured.
"The drivers of both vehicles were transported to Lenoir Memorial Hospital with minor injuries," Radford said.
The trooper said neither vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when the impact occurred.
"The van traveled approximately 140 feet after being struck, while the pickup truck traveled approximately 153 feet," Radford said. "The van came to rest in the road, while the S-10 came to rest in a private yard."
