Thursday changes for Cedar Island-Ocracoke ferry

The Cedar Island-Ocracoke Ferry plans only two runs in each direction on Thursday to allow time for the U.S. Coast Guard to inspection the vessels.

N.C. Department of Transportation Ferry Division announced the abbreviated schedule Wednesday morning and urged those with reservations that will be affected to call 1-800-293-3779 for assistance.

Departure times scheduled from Cedar Island are 10:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. and from Ocracoke are 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The normal schedule of four departure times at 7:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. from each side are scheduled to resume Friday, Oct. 23.
