Marine dies on base

Pvt. Bradley A. Foust, 18, died Saturday aboard Camp Lejeune. Foust joined the Marine Corps in January and was assigned to Marine Combat Training Battalion -- part of the School of Infantry East -- at the time of his death.

The School of Infantry is part of Camp Lejeune, and all Marine recruits from hometowns east of the Mississippi River go through one of the school's battalions after boot camp. MCT is designed to teach combat skills to Marines who will not go into infantry specialties.

Foust, of Midlothian, Va., had earned the National Defense Service Medal.

The death is currently under investigation.
