Marines return to Cherry Point

More than 100 Marines from Marine Wing Support Squadron 274 are scheduled to be reunited with friends and family at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point following a seventh-month deployment to Afghanistan, according to air station officials.

MWSS-274 Marines conducted a mission of aviation ground support during their deployment, completing tasks such as the construction of buildings and runways to be used by Marine Corps and NATO aircraft.

The main body of approximately 110 Marines is scheduled to return to Cherry Point today.
