Bar patron arrested for pouring drink on another patron and setting him on fire

SURF CITY — Police say a Camp Lejeune Marine poured an alcoholic drink onto a patron at a Topsail area bar and set him on fire.

Bradley Krise, 23, of 3rd Battalion, 6th Marines, was charged Saturday by the Surf City Police Department with malicious use of an explosive causing injury.

Police say Krise poured an alcoholic beverage on another man's back and set the man on fire. It was not immediately clear whether the injured man was another Marine. The man was treated at the scene by emergency personnel for minor burns, said Surf City Police Chief Mike Halstead.

Police would not say at which Surf City bar the alleged incident occurred. The matter was still under investigation, Halstead said.

Krise's bond was set at $75,000.
