Pick up for the Boy Scouts “Scouting for Food” is Saturday.
Homes where the Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and Venturers with the East Carolina Council for Boy Scouts of America placed yellow door hangers should have their donated bags of food placed out for pick-up before 9 a.m. on Saturday. Donations should include canned items such as vegetables, meats, chili, soups or juices and baby formula. Boxed or bagged meals and pastas are also welcome. No perishable, frozen or glass-packaged goods and monetary donations will not be accepted.
The project is a food drive involving thousands of Scouts and adult volunteers across 21 counties in Eastern North Carolina. Scouts will collect and distribute more than 80,000 pounds of food to local community or church pantries.
