Police investigating Trent Court shooting

New Bern police continue to investigate a shooting that happened Monday in the Trent Court community, leaving a man with a bullet wound in his leg.

Police report that they were called to CarolinaEast Medical Center around 6:20 p.m. Monday after a gunshot victim went to the emergency room for treatment.

The injured man was identified as Rodderick Pugh, 20. Pugh told police he was talking to friends in a parking lot off Walt Bellamy Drive when an unknown black man approached the area.

Pugh told police that the man began shooting, and Pugh said he was hit in the leg with a bullet. Pugh was unable to provide a detailed description of the shooter.
