Ketner suspects expected in court

Two men charged in connection with a May 2 home invasion in Ketner Heights are scheduled to be in court on Thursday, according to court records.

Tony J. Fuentes, 19, and Jacob M. Sylvester, 22, both of Havelock, are each charged with conspiracy to commit breaking and entering, breaking and entering, conspiracy to commit assault and assault, all misdemeanors.

The two men were shot by the resident of a home at 112 Ketner Blvd., in what Havelock police said was a dispute among the men.

Blaine E. Hallmark, 25, the resident, was not charged in a case where police said he used a pistol to defend himself and his home.

Fuentes and Sylvester spent time in Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville recovering from multiple gunshot wounds received during the break-in.

Fuentes recovered in days, but Sylvester remained hospitalized for weeks. He was served with a criminal summons on June 10 following his release from the hospital, according to Havelock police.

All three are Cherry Point Marines, according to police.
