Marijuana on the shoe is a sure giveaway

Seeing is believing. And New Bern Police were sure they saw marijuana stuck to a shoe when they knocked on the door at 108 Trent Court.

Police were responding to a tip about drug activity.

According to New Bern Deputy Police Chief Ed Preston, “Officers were met at the front door of the apartment by one person and police smelled the odor of marijuana. A second person came to the door and had marijuana stuck to his shoe.”

Police detained the two, and got a search warrant for the apartment.

Police seized 250 grams of marijuana, scales and other packaging materials.

Anthony Lynch, 21, of Lariat Circle, was arrested without incident and charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was put in jail with his bail set at $50,000.

Deon Lamont Boyce, 25, of 108 Trent Court, was arrested without incident and charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, maintaining a dwelling for controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was put in jail with his bail set at $5,000.
