The Atlantic Beach Police Department is asking for the assistance of the public in locating a missing teen.
Rebekah Lynn Whitefield, a 15-year-old white female, left home on Feb. 12 from Atlantic Beach and has not returned, according to a news release issued by the Atlantic Beach Police Department.
It is believed she may be in the Beaufort or Havelock area in the company of an unknown young man, police said.
Anyone with information on Whitfield’s whereabouts is asked to call the Atlantic Beach Police Department at 726-2523 or 726-2524 Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., or Carteret County Communications at 726-1911, after 5 p.m. and on the weekends.
