Eight arrested for selling drugs in Havelock

Havelock police, Craven and Carteret sheriff's deputies team up for three-month probe

Authorities arrested eight people for selling marijuana, crack cocaine and prescription painkillers in Havelock, city police said Thursday.

Narcotics investigators from the Havelock Police Department teamed with sheriff's deputies from Craven and Carteret counties for a three-month investigation into the sale of illegal drugs, according to a news release.

Robert W. Hardison, 21, of the James City community, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of keeping or selling drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Brandon L. Churchill, 19, of Havelock, was charged with two counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and possession of marijuana.

Ricky L. Davis, 21, of Havelock, and Christopher F. Evans, 21, of Havelock, were each charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver crack cocaine.

Nina S. Marshall, 19, of Havelock, was charged with two counts of conspiracy to sell and deliver a Schedule II and a Schedule IV controlled substance.

Jeremy R. Cox, 29, of Havelock, was charged with possession with intent to sell and distribute a Schedule II controlled substance and possession with intent to sell and distribute a Schedule IV controlled substance.

Donna L. Simpson, 50, of Havelock, was charged with possession with intent to sell and distribute Hydrocodone, possession with intent to sell and distribute Ultracet and the sale and delivery of Hydrocodone and Ultracet.

Holly L. Simpson, 24, of Havelock, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver Lorazepam and sale and delivery of Lorazepam.

Controlled substances are designated as Schedule I through V by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. The severity of penalties can vary based on a drug's designation, with Schedule V drugs having the lowest potential for abuse and Schedule I drugs having the highest.

Havelock police said the investigation is continuing and more arrests are expected.
