Readers: Clinton should stay while strong
If the pundits prove correct, Sen. Barack Obama and Sen. Hillary Clinton will likely split Tuesday's presidential primaries in North Carolina and Indiana.
And in the view of most respondents to a Daily News Online poll, that would mean the battle for the Democratic presidential nomination will go on for a while longer.
In a poll last week at www.jdnews.com, readers were asked whether Clinton - who is given very little chance of overcoming Obama's delegate lead - should continue her campaign if she manages a split this week or should she end her run for the presidency.
Sixty percent of 221 readers who took part in the poll thought a split would be good enough for Clinton to continue, while the remaining readers thought she should throw in the towel.
Each week, online readers of The Daily News are offered opinion polls in which they can weigh in on local, national or even sports-related issues of the day. Readers can vote in couple of different polls a week by logging on to jdnews.com and locating the poll at the lower section of the site. Users can only vote once in each poll from the same computer.
Results of polls will be posted on Monday in The Daily News. If readers would like to suggest a poll question, send it to localdesk@freedomenc.com or call the newsroom at 353-1171, ext. 8465.

| My hope is that both Clinton and Obama stay in the race and continue to thrash each other so that we can have a real Presidential candidate win this race, a conservative! Democrats Go Home! It's about time that this state tell the Democrats we don't want them any more, this goes for Federal, State and Local. |
