Finalists for college president to attend receptions
The six finalists for president of Craven Community College will be in town the next three weeks to visit with the school's faculty and the community.
The finalists will interview with the Board of Trustees, and each will attend a reception that is open to the public. The receptions will be in Orringer Auditorium at the New Bern campus on Glenburnie Road.
The receptions will be from 4:45 to 6 p.m. on the following days:
- Mark O. Kinlaw, a vice president at Robeson Community College in Lumberton, will meet Monday with the public.
- Cleve H. Cox, president of Williamsburg Technical College in Kingstree, S.C., will be in town Wednesday.
- Luba Chliwniak, a vice president at Harford Community College in Bel Air, Md., will be in town May 27.
- Catherine Chew, a vice president at Orange County Community College in Middletown, N.Y., will be in town May 29.
- Linda Thomas-Glover, provost and chief academic officer at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College in Elizabethtown, Ky., will be in town June 2.
- Kerry L. Youngblood, a recent vice president at Mesa State College in Grand Junction, Colo., will be in town June 3.
Trustees will meet at 6 p.m. June 5 to discuss the candidates and choose three finalists to submit to the State Board of Community Colleges. Trustees have said they hope to have one of the finalists on the job by Nov. 1.
