Accident reports

The following accidents were reported by the State Highway Patrol:

Accident time/location: Nov. 9, 11:33 p.m., 3.3 miles north of Kinston on N.C. 11.

Driver: Nathaniel Aaron Esposito, 28, 671 Broadmoor Court, Grimesland, in a 2006 Chevrolet.

What happened: Esposito was traveling south on N.C. 11. The vehicle ran off the road on the right and struck a ditch. The vehicle came to rest in the ditch.

Damages: Damages to Esposito's vehicle were estimated at $8,000.

Injuries: None reported.

Charges: Esposito was charged with failure to maintain lane control.

Accident time/location: Nov. 11, 7:32 p.m., 6.3 miles north of Trenton on U.S. 70.

Driver: Laura Elizabeth Duvall, 28, 508 National Court Drive, New Bern, in a 2007 Kia.

What happened: Duvall was traveling east on U.S. 70. The vehicle ran off the road on the right, struck a tree, and came to rest in a ditch. Note: Water was standing in the doorway.

Damages: Damages to Duvall's vehicle were estimated at $2,000.

Injuries: Duvall was transported to Craven Regional Hospital by Cove City EMS.

Charges: None.

Accident time/location: Nov. 6, 11:47 a.m., 1.9 miles east of Seven Springs on Barber Road.

Driver: William Christopher Coombs, 39, 2607 Sutton Loop Road, La Grange, in a 1998 Chevrolet.

What happened: Coombs was traveling east on Barber Road. The vehicle crossed the center line and ran off the road on the left. The vehicle struck a driveway culvert. The vehicle then drove into a field until it became disabled. Coombs then fled the scene.

Damages: Damages to Coombs' vehicle were estimated at $5,000.

Injuries: None reported.

Charges: Coombs was charged with driving left of center, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident.
