Accident reports

The following accidents were reported by the State Highway Patrol:

Accident time/location: Dec. 23, 3 a.m., 4.21 miles south of Kinston on N.C. 11.

Driver: Jessica Erin Koonce, 21, 818 N.C. 111, Beulaville, in a 2002 Kia.

What happened: Koonce was traveling south on N.C. 11. The vehicle crossed the center line and ran off the road on the left. The vehicle then struck a utility pole and a speed limit sign. The vehicle came to final rest on the left shoulder facing north. Property damaged: Utility pole $4,500; speed limit sign $100.

Damages: Damages to Koonce's vehicle were estimated at $4,500.

Injuries: Koonce and two passengers were taken to Lenoir Memorial Hospital.

Charges: Koonce was charged with reckless driving.

Accident time/location: Dec. 28, 11:03 p.m., 5.4 miles north of Kinston on Poole Road.

Driver: Alton Seth Hobbs, 21, 3194 Institute Road, LaGrange, in a 2007 Nissan.

What happened: Hobbs was traveling west on Poole Road. The vehicle crossed the center line, ran off the road on the left and struck a ditch. The vehicle then struck a utility pole. The vehicle came to rest near the utility pole. Damages to the utility pole were estimated at $500.

Damages: to Hobb's vehicle were estimated at $8,000.

Injuries: None reported.

Charges: Hobbs was charged with driving while impaired, driving left of center, exceeding a safe speed.
