Woman rescued from early-morning wreck
A 43-year-old woman was rescued from a crash this morning at N.C. 11 North and Braxton Road.
Peggy Hayes was pulled from her Honda Passport, which she was trapped in after the accident.
State Highway Patrol Trooper J. Locklear said Hayes' vehicle went off the right side of N.C. 11, and the vehicle came to rest on its side after plowing through a swampy area beside the road.
Hugo firefighters said they used a newl acquired set of stabilizing Res-Q-Jacks to ensure their safety as they cut open the roof of the vehicle to pull Hayes out.
There was no immediate word on any injuries or citations.
