Two robbed at Cedar Lane home
Suspects still on the loose
A Kinston man and woman were robbed at gunpoint inside a Cedar Lane home after the man was accosted in his driveway early Friday morning.
According to the Kinston Department of Public Safety, when Lawrence Sutton pulled into his driveway at approximately 3 a.m. Friday, three black males - two of them brandishing handguns - forced him into the home.
Sutton, along with a female that was already inside the residence, were bound with duct tape and held at bay by one of the armed suspects.
While Sutton and the woman were being bound, the other two suspects collected a Curtis-Mathis TV valued at $300, a Samsung cellular phone valued at $100, a Sony Playstation valued at $300 and various CDs valued at $200.
"After the suspects left the residence, Sutton and the other victim were able to free themselves," Sgt. Craig Jarman of the KDPS said. "The victim's cell phone was stolen and they do not have a land line phone; they had to call the police from a neighbor's house."
Jarman said no one was injured during the robbery.
