Column - Clearest immediate dangers country faces are from those who run it

Freedom ENC

I was sad to see Arizona’s attempt to control illegal immigration temporarily emasculated by the court, but what else could you expect? It seems to me the clearest immediate dangers the country faces are from those who run it. Happily, the blindfolded lady has yet to sing.

Arizona enacted statutes containing immigration provisions already on the federal books but pointedly ignored. Rather than assume their responsibilities and protect its citizens, Washington acts as if Mexico has some sort of voice in Arizona’s future. I don’t get it.

What happened to the rule of law? Who would’ve ever imagined Washington would fight to virtually cede one of our states to another country because of political unwillingness to enforce federal law or let anybody else do it? It’s beyond weird.

It’s solvable only after the border is truly secured. Click. Once that’s drop-dead reality, all other alternatives are on the table. Until that happens, the Democrat mantra of “comprehensive immigration reform” is seen for what it is: amnesty. Now I better understand the scope of “enemies, foreign and domestic” oath qualifiers.

The only good news coming out of this whole socialist experiment is that once and for all it’s clear what happens when our government is turned sharply left. Thankfully, in less than a hundred days we’ll take the steering wheel away from them. If up to me I wouldn’t let them drive for a long time and never again with a full tank of legislative gas.

When I wax political in this little column, I get a few angry blurbs from the left. The level of their vitriol and quality of their writings vary but the one consistent thread running through all is gross arrogance. They’re smart and people like me are dumb. Poor Otis.

Something that confuses me — being so ignorant and all – is why the left dislikes the Tea Party so viscerally? Good grief, they’re the ones that produced them in the first place. Nowadays every time Obama gives a sermon or Reid and Pelosi utter a sentence, it produces even more tea baggers.

Although a November bloodbath for liberals is quickly moving toward highly probable, I’m sure they’ll torch all they can before officially exiting in January. Luckily, the biggest fires are already burning so there’s not a whole lot more they can ignite. According to Reid, the public option will rear its head again this year, but surely even the most ardent believers won’t be able to part its sea of red ink.

Hopefully next year I’ll be treated to a Congress channeling Red Adair, snuffing out destructive laws one at a time. In the meantime, little old me will do my best to stop these people from setting any more fires.

When I enter the voting booth this November, I intend to whip out my ballot and pee on every Democrat’s matches I can reach. That strikes me as great fun.
