The following incidents were reported by the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office and the Kinston Department of Public Safety:
On July 27, a man on Desmond Street, Kinston, reported someone broke into his residence. Damages to a window were estimated at $150. A tire iron valued at $10 was seized at the scene.
On July 27, a man on West Daniels Street, Kinston, reported someone stole a lab/cocker spaniel puppy valued at $50.
On July 27, a woman reported someone stole her bicycle from a driveway/parking lot on Hardee Road, Kinston. The black Panama bicycle is valued at $129.99. A blue Magna bicycle valued at $20 was found at the scene.
On July 25, a woman on South Charles Street, La Grange, reported someone stole bicycles valued at $100.
On July 27, On July 28, a woman reported someone broke into a business on South Elmore Davis Road, Moss Hill, and stole the following: Power/hand tools valued at $1,000; household goods valued at $114; scrap jewelry/precious metal valued at $100. Damages to the premises were estimated at $100.
On July 28, a man on Colie Road, La Grange, reported someone broke into his residence and stole the following: An LCD flatscreen TV valued at $900; a PS-3 gaming system/controllers valued at $350; three PS-3 games valued at $240; a 243 caliber bolt-action Mauser rifle with wood stock valued at $700, a 270 caliber Winchester rifle valued at $700; a 16-gauge Mossberg shotgun valued at $250; Federal 270 ammunition valued at $20; $500 cash (change).
On July 28, a woman on Live Oak Drive, Kinston, reported someone attempted to defraud her of money on the promise of recieivng $1.5 million.
On July 28, a man on Eason Road, La Grange, reported someone broke into his residence and stole the following: A Springfield 40 caliber handgun valued at $500; a Toshiba laptop computer valued at $1,000; a Dell laptop computer valued at $800; an Xbox 360 gaming system/controllers valued at $400; 10 Xbox games valued at $500; a Nintendo Wii valued at $200.
On July 23, an employee of BB&T on Plaza Boulevard, Kinston, reported someone turned in a counterfeit bill.
On July 28, a woman on Towerhill Road, Kinston, reported an aquaintance grabbed her by the throat. No injuries were reported.
