Sun Journal Staff

DOVER — A man Jones County deputies say broke into a house on Burkett Road was taken into custody within two hours of the alleged crime with assistance from mutual law enforcement agencies.

Jones County Sheriff’s Maj. C.J. Frye said that at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday deputies responded to a call on Burkett Road. Frye said the woman came home and saw a man running out of her back yard. Jones County, Lenoir County and New Bern police were involved in taking Craig Allen Neal, 34, into custody two hours after the breaking and entering.

Frye said the man was charged with one count of felonious breaking and entering and one count of felonious larceny. He is in the Jones County jail with his bail set at $10,000.

Frye said Neal has pending charges in Lenoir County for second-degree burglary.
