The North Carolina Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, sponsored by AMVETS Post 111, is presenting the seminar "Estate Planning and Medicaid Eligibility Planning" free to seniors from 2-3:30 p.m. and 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Business Enterprise Center, 327 N. Queen St., Kinston and from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Train Depot, 528 Queen St., Grifton. The "Senior Citizens Handbook - Laws and Programs Affecting Senior Citizens in North Carolina," along with other important materials will be available. The Kinston-Lenoir County Public Library will hold a book sale from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. May 31 and 2 p.m.-6 p.m. June 1 at 510 N. Queen St. Available will be a wide variety of children's and adult materials in hardback and paperback, including fiction, nonfiction and reference books. Also available will be videos, DVDs, books on tape, CDs, encyclopedias and magazines. In addition, miscellaneous office furniture will be offered for sale. Five experts in economic development will explore Lenoir County's footing in the competitive business of job creation during a forum at 7 p.m. Thursday, at the Global TransPark Training Center. The forum - "Auditing Economic Development: What Works and What Needs Work in Lenoir County" - is sponsored by the Kinston-Lenoir County Chamber of Commerce and The Free Press. Scheduled panelists are Mark Pope, director of economic development for Lenoir County; Adrian King, executive director of Pride of Kinston; Kathy Howard, associate vice president of North Carolina's East Region; Donna Phillips, a senior economic developer with the North Carolina Department of Commerce; and Bruce Parson, economic developer for the N.C.
