Seven men shot at Kinston restaurant
Seven men were shot at a Kinston restaurant on Sunday morning.
Shortly after 3 a.m., officers from the Kinston Department of Public Safety Law Enforcement Division were called to the emergency department at Lenoir Memorial Hospital in reference to seven males being treated for gunshot wounds.
The shooting occurred at 400 South Queen Street at the West Indian Cafe.
The investigation into the shooting is continuing.
According to Detective Bobbie Jo Smith, the management was unaware of the shootings.
"They heard gunshots, but they didn't know seven people had been shot," Smith said.
Smith said the shootings did not happen inside the restaurant, but near the entrance.
Calls to the restaurant on Monday were unanswered.
Michael Davis Jr., 29, and Rodric Damon Harrison, 38, were transported to Pitt County Memorial Hospital. Allen Jerome Simon was transported to Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro for treatment.
The other four victims - Stefon Robinson, 28; Johnny Waters, 32; Tyrone Whitfield, 36; and Carlton Lee Bryant, 35 - were treated and released at Lenoir Memorial Hospital.
