Identification made in Friday shooting

New Bern police have identified the man shot Friday night at a Green Street residence and the man accused in the shooting has made his first appearance in court.

Robert Lee Savage, 60, of E-37 Trent Court, made his first appearance in Craven district court Monday.

New Bern police charged Savage with murder. He is being held in the Craven County jail without bond. He was appointed a lawyer.

Savage is charged with shooting and killing Donald Lee Ollison, 61, of Chattawka Lane. The shooting occurred at 822 Green St. Friday night.

Police said an autopsy was being conducted on Ollison Monday.
