Leak found in water line

Leaking occurred in a two-inch water line in the Southwest area Monday. Construction is ongoing in the area to relocate water lines, and residents may have experienced low or no water pressure until as late as 8 p.m. as crews were making repairs, according to a press release from the Onslow Water and Sewer Authority.

Areas affected by the outage were along N.C. 53 from Maplehurst Road to Pony Farm and Murrill Hill roads and included Forbes Estates, Sabrina Court, Countrywood Estates, Edwards Road and Edwards Estates.

ONWASA estimated approximately 250 homes were affected.
