Sneads Ferry teen faces more charges

A Sneads Ferry teenager in jail accused of stealing two motorcycles last week was charged Sunday with stealing $50,000 in jewelry.

Jonathan B. Kalanarhos, 18, of Osprey Point Drive in Sneads Ferry, was charged Sunday by the Onslow County Sheriff’s detective Kevin Appleyard with breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, possession of stolen goods and obtaining property by false pretense.

Kalanarhos is accused of breaking into a residence and stealing a digital camera and $50,000 in jewelry, and then later pawning the property, according to the Onslow County Sheriff's Department.

His bonds totaled $20,000.
