Construction begins at main gate Monday

Beginning Monday, the Camp Lejeune Main Gate will have increased construction activity adjacent to Holcomb Boulevard, between the gate and Brewster Boulevard, which should not impact traffic, according to base releases.

Construction workers will be making preparations for temporary traffic lanes on the east side of Holcomb Boulevard, tree harvesting, clearing areas, grading and conducting utility work, according to the release.

Traffic at the main gate is expected to shift to temporary lanes in early May, with reduced speed limits through the area of construction, as improvements to physical security measures at the Main Gate and Piney Green Gate are made. The construction project is expected to continue through late summer.
