Jacksonville man wounded in daylight hold up
A Jacksonville man was shot Tuesday afternoon in a daylight hold up, officials say.
According to the Jacksonville Police Department, Takashi Alistar Taylor arrived on Eastwood Drive to meet a friend and was allegedly approached by Daquaves Maurice Humphrey, 16, of Coleman Drive, who was holding a 40 caliber handgun and demanded money from Taylor.
Taylor tried to run from Humphrey but was shot in the arm, according to police. Humphrey took $200 from Taylor, who was treated and released from Onslow Memorial Hospital, and left the scene.
The Jacksonville Police Department received a call about the incident at approximately 2:20 p.m., Capt. David Teeter said.
Investigation efforts of the Criminal Investigative Division and Community Response Team of the Uniform Patrol Division lead to the identification of Humphrey who was apprehended early before 3 a.m. Wednesday without incident at 235 Coleman Drive, according to police.
Humphrey was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault inflicting serious bodily injury. Bond was set at $50,000 secured.
Neither Humphrey or Taylor are listed on the North Carolina Department of Corrections Web site.
