Kinston man arrested on rape charge
15-year-old girl allegedly raped at park in Goldsboro
GOLDSBORO - A Kinston man was arrested Friday night after he allegedly raped a girl at Busco Beach.
According to the Goldsboro News Argus, Tony Burton Taylor, 43, of Kinston used a knife to commit an alleged rape against a 15-year-old girl while she was at a recreational park off Bryan Boulevard in Goldsboro.
Taylor, who is also wanted in Lenoir County on several arrest warrants, fled Busco Beach after the alleged attack and walked into a swamp area.
Several park staff members and park visitors witnessed Taylor run into the swamp woodlands and followed him. The Goldsboro News Argus reported that Wayne County sheriff deputies found Taylor hiding under several bushes in the swamp.
Taylor had no where else to run after several park officials and visitors surrounded him, cutting off all his escape routes.
When deputies apprehended Taylor, he told them he had previously swallowed several pills. Taylor was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital for evaluation then arrested and placed in the Wayne County Detention Center under $300,000 bond.
