Cherry Point has announced the winner of the 2010 Air Show Theme Contest.
David Rose, a worker at Fleet Readiness Center East, came up with the winning theme "Semper Fi Over The Carolina Sky!"
The theme will be included on all promotional banners and publications associated with North Carolina’s largest air show that will be held May 21 to 23 at Cherry Point.
For winning the contest, Rose will receive several prizes, including special VIP passes.
The U.S. Navy Blue Angels flight demonstration team is scheduled to be the featured act at this year’s show, which is expected to draw more than 100,000 people. The Blue Angels were last at Cherry Point in 2008.
The air show is now selling advanced and preferred seating for both day shows as well as the Friday night show.
Preferred seating is available in three tiers, bleacher seats, box seats and pavilion seating. Box seats are available in sections of 10. "Afterburner Pavilion" patrons will have a front-row chalet with shade, seating, box lunch and an official program.
Discounts are available for attendees purchasing their seats in advance of the show dates.
There is no admission fee for general admission to the show, and parking is free. Open blanket seating areas are available at no charge.
