Sneads Ferry's 'Wild Caught' airs tonight on UNC-TV

“Wild Caught: The Life and Struggles of an American Fishing Town,” directed and produced by Matthew Barr, which describes the culture of Sneads Ferry will air on UNC-TV tonight at 10 p.m.

Seven years in the making, the documentary shows the struggles of the fishermen of Sneads Ferry.

The documentary also played a role in preserving working waterfronts in North Carolina. After it was shown to legislators and researchers, legislators allocated $70 million to purchase waterfront areas that could be used by commercial fishermen, including in 2010, dock space in Sneads Ferry.
