Incident reports
The following incidents were reported by the Kinston Department of Public Safety and the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office:
On Dec. 1, a man on Hugo Road, Kinston, reported someone stole his Nissan Altima. The vehicle is valued at $10,000.
On Dec. 1, a man on Poplar Street, Kinston, reported someone stole a 12 gauge camouflage automatic shotgun. The gun is valued at $400.
On Dec. 1, a woman on Indian Lane, Kinston, reported someone broke into her residence and stole the following: An Xbox gaming system valued at $400, and 29 Xbox games valued at $1,280. Damages to the residence were estimated at $335.
On Dec. 1, a man reported someone broke into his vehicle and stole the following: A Pioneer radio valued at $250, two Pioneer 12-inch speakers valued at $250, and a Nitro 1000-watt amplifier valued at $350. Damages to the vehicle were estimated at $200. The incident occurred on Grainger Station Road, Kinston.
On Dec. 2, a woman on Dobbs Farm Road, Kinston, reported someone broke into her residence. Damages were estimated at $100.
On Nov. 30, an employee of the Kinston Parks and Recreation Department on McLewean Street, reported someone stole three weed eaters. The weed eaters are valued at $700.
On Nov. 30, a woman on West Lenoir Avenue, Kinston, reported someone broke into her residence and stole the following: A Dell lap top computer valued at $800, and a 32-inch plasma TV valued at $500. Damages to the residence were estimated at $125.
On Nov. 29, an employee of Children's Village Academy on East Washington Avenue, Kinston, reported someone broke in and stole Dell computer hardware/software valued at $1,000.
On Nov. 30, a woman on Clay Street, Kinston, reported someone broke into her residence and stole three Christmas gifts (value estimated not available). Damages to the residence were estimated at $75.
On Nov. 30, a man reported someone vandalized his Pontiac Bonneville. Damages to the vehicle were estimated at $500. The incident occurred in a parking lot on Savannah Lane, Kinston.
On Nov. 30, a man on Lincoln Street, Kinston, reported one of his children took his Smith and Wesson 9 mm handgun and gave it to someone else. The gun is valued at $350.
On Nov. 29, a man on Emerson Road, Kinston, reported someone stole three pieces of landscaping equipment from his garage. The equipment is valued at $675.
On Nov. 29, an employee of Crusader Rent-To-Own on North Herritage Street, Kinston, reported someone threw a concrete block through their window and stole the following: A 47-inch Zenith plasma TV valued at $2,600. Damages to the window were estimated at $900.
On Nov. 29, a member of Temple of Deliverance Church on West Lenoir Avenue, Kinston, reported someone broke in and stole the following: Two 6-disc CD players valued at $75, two double deck tape players valued at $50, an RCA 27-inch TV valued at $100, an MTD weed eater valued at $69, a pressure washer valued at $279, an electric leaf blower valued at $26.76, and a John Deere Lawnmower valued at $305. Damages to a chain link fence were estimated at $100; damages to a door were estimated at $200.
On Nov. 29, a man on East Shine Street, Kinston, reported someone hit him with their fists, resulting in minor injuries.
On Nov. 28, a man reported he was assaulted in a parking lot, resulting in minor injuries. The incident occurred on Old Snow Hill Road, Kinston.
On Nov. 28, a man on Briarwood Drive, Kinston, reported someone threatened him and vandalized his vehicle. Damages to the vehicle were estimated at $200.
On Nov. 28, a woman reported someone stole her purse from her shopping cart. The incident occurred at a grocery store on West Vernon Avenue, Kinston. The purse and it's contents are valued at $48.
On Nov. 27, a woman on Elma Drive, Kinston, reported someone busted out the rear window of her vehicle. Damages were estimated at $200.
On Nov. 27, an employee of the Lunch Box on MLK Boulevard, Kinston, reported someone broke out their window. Damages to the window were estimated at $500.
On Nov. 26, a woman reported someone stole her purse. The purse and its contents are valued at $150 (recovered). The incident occurred at a restaurant on West Vernon Avenenue, Kinston. The case was cleared by an arrest.
On Nov. 26, a woman on Hyman Avenue, Kinston, reported someone hit her in the face, resulting in minor injuries. Prosecution was declined.
On Nov. 1, a man on Random Road, Kinston, reported someone trespassed on her property, communicated threats, and assaulted her. The incident was cleared by an arrest.
On Dec. 1, a man on East Washington Avenue, Kinston, reported someone stole a metal ladder valued at $200.
On Dec. 1, a man on Carey Road, Kinston, reported someone busted out a window on his truck. Damages were estimated at $100.
On Dec. 1, a man on Hawthorne Avenue, Kinston, reported someone broke into his residence and stole the following: A 19-inch Visio TV valued at $300, and a DVD player valued at $100. Damages to the residence were estimated at $100.
On Dec. 1, a man on Cecelia Avenue, Kinston, reported someone stole an aluminum tool/truck box and it's contents from his yard. The aluminum diamond tread truck box and assorted tools are valued at $500.
On Dec. 1, a woman on Yogi Street, Kinston, reported someone vandalized the paint job on a Honda Accord and a Chrysler Concord. Damages were estimated at $2,000.
On Dec. 1, a man reported the following stolen: A central air conditioning unit valued at $1,000, a clothes dryer valued at $100, a wheel barrel valued at $50, a kerosene heater valued at $25, and a window air conditioning unit valued at $50. The incident occurred on Wallace Family Road, Kinston.
On Dec. 2, a woman reported someone broke into her vehicle and stole the following: A blue and white purse valued at $100, a cellular phone valued at $50, and $1,000 cash. Damages to the vehicle were estimated at $300.
On Dec. 2, an employee of Hanson Body Shop on East South Street, Kinston, reported someone broke into their business. Damages to a window were estimated at $100.
On Dec. 2, an employee of Nationwide Insurance on West Vernon Avenue, Kinston, reported someone broke in and stole the following: A yellow Titan chop saw valued at $200, a yellow Titan air compressor valued at $300, and a yellow Titan sump pump valued at $200.
On Dec. 3, an employee of Bojangles on North Herritage Street, Kinston, reported someone pried open the back center column of their drive-in window. Damages were estimated at $200.
On Dec. 2, a man on Carr Drive, Grifton, reported someone stole a radar detector from his 1999 Jeep Cherokee. The radar detector is valued at $100. Damages to the vehicle were estimated at $400.
On Dec. 2, a man on Carr Road, Grifton, reported someone stole a white Buick Century with blue interior. The vehicle is valued at $1,400.
On Dec. 1, a man on Sherman Street, Kinston, reported someone shot at him with an unknown type of handgun. There were no injuries.
On Dec. 1, a man on Hodges Road, Kinston, reported someone scratched the paint on his vehicle. Damages were estimated at $800.
