Sneads Ferry man charged with raping disabled woman

A Sneads Ferry man has been charged with taking advantage of a woman's physical and mental disabilities and raping her, officials say.

Timothy Mark Gray, 48, of Moore Landing Road, was charged Wednesday by the Onslow County Sheriffs Department.

According to a press release from the Sheriff's Department, the woman, who suffered a right side body deficit from multiple strokes as the result of an automobile accident, stayed with Gray during May and June.

The rape allegedly took place at approximately 10:30 p.m. June 15. The woman was unable to fight back, according to the release.

Bond was set at $100,000 secured.
