Beer truck wreck blocks traffic

BEULAVILLE — A single-vehicle wreck in Duplin County south of Beulaville caused both lanes of N.C. 41 to be closed for several hours Thursday morning, according to Highway Patrol officials.

Troopers said a Budweiser beer truck went left of center around 7 a.m., overcorrected and flipped, blocking the road. The driver, who was conscious and alert at the scene, was transported to Duplin General Hospital with an arm injury.

There were no passengers in the truck, and no other vehicles were involved.

Responders finished clearing the roadway around 11 a.m., officials said.
