Jacksonville man killed in weekend wreck

A Jacksonville man was killed in a weekend wreck.

Adam Dicarlo, 24, of Catherine Lake Road, was driving a 1998 Ford southeast on U.S. 258 around 11:30 p.m. Sunday when he crossed the center line and hit a 1999 Toyota traveling in the opposite direction driven by Kelli Arduini of Cary, according to Kathy Hopkins, office assistant with the North Carolina Highway Patrol.

Dicarlo died as a result of the collision; he was not wearing his seatbelt, Hopkins said.

Hopkins said Arduini was transported to Onslow Memorial Hospital. No further information was available on her condition.

Highway patrol could not confirm whether alcohol or speed were involved in the wreck.
