Updated at 5:36 p.m.

According to Onslow County Sheriff Ed Brown, Chamberlin worked briefly as a Sheriff’s deputy until January, when she chose to leave the department and go to basic law enforcement training school.

Updated at 2:35 p.m. to correct the road Chamberlin was driving on.

A Jacksonville woman died Wednesday night after a single-vehicle motorcycle wreck, authorities said.

Lisa Chamberlin, 42, of Raintree Road, was operating a 2008 Harley Davidson on Gum Branch Road between Western Boulevard and Maynard Boulevard at 10:10 p.m. when she lost control of the motorcycle in a curve and left the roadway, according to a press release from the Jacksonville Police Department.

Chamberlin, who was wearing a helmet, was ejected from the vehicle, according to the release.

She was transported to Onslow Memorial Hospital where she died as a result of her injuries.

The wreck remains under investigation.
